GruppoSerafini | Company background
Serafini was established in 2007. We are a young, dynamic company, founded by Valentino Serafini, the founder of Umberto Serafini Serafini Sri Fresh Distribution, whose family is well established in the food industry, supplying supermarkets such as GD & DO as well as a myriad of bars and catering facilities.
In 1936, his great-grandfather began transporting fresh yeast between Rome and Terni. Then between 1948 and 1971, Valentino’s father Antonio took over and extended the business distributing and supplying all the food to the bars in Terni. Valentino succeeded his father in 1971, however Antonio is still active in the distribution business.
Valentino has used the 15 years’ experience gained from working in the family business – knowing all the pros and cons of the profession – to build the company towards becoming a main leader in the market.
GruppoSerafini | Objectives
We strive to exceed targets in:
Going beyond the needs and expectations of our clients.
To give our customers an added value to transportation by offering them a reliable and efficient solution in distribution through our experience and professionalism.
To improve the fresh food area by creating value for our partners, instilling pride in our people and engaging in a responsible way for a better world.
GruppoSerafini | Our Rules
Honesty and integrity.
To always meet our clients’ needs.
Accept and meet all business challenges.
To continually improve our services.
Our staff to provide a professional and caring service.
Achieve our goals with sustainable profits and customer satisfaction.
Work towards maintaining the planet.
Being socially responsible means not only fulfilling legal obligations, but go beyond, investing more in human capital and sustainable development. Authoritative international bodies, including “UN Global Compact” and “Global Reporting Initiative”, point out that such an approach is now essential to address issues such as respect for human rights, environmental protection and social development.
For the enterprise there is therefore an important tool to improve financial performance, the processes of internal cohesion, operational management, brand reputation and product positioning.
For citizens and consumers Corporate Responsibility is value.
GruppoSerafini | Transport
Our logistical activity dates back in 1948 when Umberto Serafini (in the historic photo, left), began at the end of the Second World War and gradually grew to a fleet of 10 vehicles in 1960. In 1976, transportation evolved to include insulated vehicles. Since 1981, our fleet are and refrigerated and regulated by the ATP Scheme. The entire fleet was renewed with an entire fleet of Mercedes vehicles in 2002.
Today, our fleet consists of 49/2 with flow rates from 35q to 440q. All this is necessary to ensure deliveries in 5 regions within 24 hours of receipt or preparation of order, covering more than 10,000km per day.
GruppoSerafini | Innovation
We are a cutting-edge company with, since our founding, have installed fully computerised internal processes. All operations are carried out with the aid of information technology, from simple pick list to the tracking of delivery routes, ensuring the reduction in errors, stockouts and all issues which may arise due to the lack of an efficient computerised system.
We are constantly evolving and increasing our services and guarantees. In May 2010, we introduced GPS to the entire fleet as well as at the warehouse to enable us to monitor real-time vehicle positioning. The internal temperature of the body is also monitored through constant liaison with the satellite that captures the data, which is certified by the French Masternaut. As from April 2015, we will be taking further steps by enabling the computerisation of online tracking of shipments.
All this provides a guarantee for our clients who wish to outsource their products and raise the standard of quality, as we are able to provide a real transport chain.
GruppoSerafini | Executive summary
Logistics plays a vital role in the transportation of goods. At Serafini, we understand how vital it is that goods are delivered in an efficient, safe and professional manner at all times.
Having carefully analysed data relating to the transportation of food products, in particular in the fresh food market specialising in -4˚C, we found that there are two main logistical concerns amongst both growing, established and multinational food producers. The crucial importance it plays on the economic success of their business and entrusting the transportation of their goods in safe hands, ensuring that they do not encounter problems such as delivery delays and lost goods. We believe in providing a professional, reliable and cost efficient service to companies wishing to thrive in this economic climate.
Our staff are highly qualified in all aspects of fleet and logistics. We also offer an efficient fleet with satellite monitoring with ample storage.
